Roll Call is developed by John Kenneth Fisher under the Sidelark Labs name.
This page summarizes Roll Call’s source license, project-specific license notice, third-party software, bundled audio assets, and credits.
Roll Call Source License
The public Roll Call source repository is source-available for noncommercial use under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0, with additional project-specific terms and asset boundaries described in the Roll Call License Notice.
Copyright © 2026 Sidelark Labs, John Kenneth Fisher.
Commercial use is not permitted under the public source license without separate written permission from John Kenneth Fisher.
Noncommercial use may include personal, educational, nonprofit, public agency, volunteer, youth sports, community sports, research, hobby, and similar noncommercial purposes, subject to the full license terms.
Forks and Modified Builds
Public noncommercial forks and modified builds must follow the requirements in the Roll Call License Notice.
Those requirements include using a distinct app or product name, not presenting the fork as the original Roll Call app, preserving attribution to Roll Call and John Kenneth Fisher, and visibly crediting:
“Derived from Roll Call by John Kenneth Fisher”
Forks and modified builds may describe themselves as derived from Roll Call, but they must use a distinct app or product name.
Commercial Permission
Commercial use is not allowed under the public source license unless separately licensed in writing by John Kenneth Fisher.
Commercial use includes, but is not limited to, selling Roll Call, a fork, or a derivative app; including Roll Call or a derivative in a paid product or service; using Roll Call or a derivative for client work; hosting Roll Call or a derivative as part of a commercial service; or using Roll Call or a derivative internally at a for-profit business.
For commercial permission questions, contact:

Community and Nonprofit Use
Schools, nonprofits, public agencies, volunteer teams, youth sports programs, and community sports organizations may use Roll Call for noncommercial purposes under the public license.
If a use case is unclear, or if commercial restrictions would get in the way of a good community use, please contact Sidelark Labs.
Small Code Snippets
Small, standalone code snippets from the Roll Call repository may be reused commercially.
Attribution is appreciated but not required for those snippets.
This exception does not allow commercial reuse of Roll Call as an app, a fork, a substantial portion of the codebase, the app architecture, UI flows, bundled content, templates, branding, or derivative products.
Reserved Materials
The public software license does not grant reuse rights for all bundled materials.
Reserved materials include:
• The Roll Call app name as a product name
• Roll Call logos, icons, and branding
• John-specific images and personal likeness
• Sample personal or team media
• Any other personal or brand-identifying materials in the repository
Forks and modified builds must replace reserved materials unless John Kenneth Fisher separately permits their use.
Forks may describe themselves as derived from Roll Call, but their app or product name must be distinct.
Third-Party Materials
Third-party materials remain under their own licenses and are not relicensed by Roll Call’s project license.
Fork authors and modified-build authors are responsible for confirming that their use of any third-party material is allowed by the applicable third-party license.
Third-Party Software
Roll Call includes third-party software that remains under its own license.
